You may be asking yourself why your marriage journey has taken this unexpected turn in life, or how you will be strong enough to rebuild your life during or after the process of divorce. I lived in a fictitious marriage for many years, losing myself in the process, and began to realize it was time to get back to who I am and what I believed in during this life changing process of divorce. On a more complex level, you may encounter feelings of intense loss and anger, coupled with aloneness, when trying to regain your personal sense of self and, moreover, your place in the community again.
One of the most important endeavors you are to face is rediscovering who you are now and who you will become after such a personal tragedy. Divorce is somewhat of a test or challenge to find your inner courage and self-esteem once more. It is like being in a deep well and sinking to the very bottom until one day you realize that you are better than that and rise to the top.
