The companion to the Uzbekistan Pavilion at the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, A Matter of Radiance investigates the "Sun" heliocomplex built in 1987 near Tashkent. Its large solar furnace--one of only two worldwide--was initially built for military research, but is now being considered for its potential as a sustainable energy tool.
