When duty calls, courage answers.
May 1942. Lynn Levy is cast adrift, with no idea what to do with her life beyond working in her father's auto repair shop. When she hears a radio broadcast about the newly formed Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAACs), she makes an impulsive decision that will change everything.
At Fort Des Moines, Iowa, Lynn discovers unexpected talents-and an unexpected love. Sergeant Ivan Miller is charming, infuriating, and impossible to resist. But when she is posted to Morocco as the Army gears up for war, she loses track of her lover even as she finds her personal courage amid the souks and minarets and the shifting sands of the treacherous Sahara Desert.
Deftly blending historical accuracy with fictional intrigue, A Moon at the End of the World highlights the humor and regimen of Army life for America's first women enlistees and the mystery and intrigue of war-torn North Africa as America fights to best Hitler's armies. Fans of World War II fiction will love this sweeping tale of courage, friendship, and challenging romance that transcends the chaos of war.
