In the 10th Birder Murder Mystery, demons from the past await Jejeune down under ...
DCI Domenic Jejeune visits DCS Colleen Shepherd in Australia to discuss his future. Or so he tells his partner, Lindy Hey. But when a murdered man's body shows up at the exact spot he was abducted from days earlier, Jejeune is drawn into a case involving Lindy's nemesis, Ray Hayes. Now the detective must decide between upholding the law and protecting Lindy from harm.
Back in Norfolk, the murder of the CEO of a lithium battery importer sets Sergeant Danny Maik on a collision course with Jejeune. Any evidence one detective uncovers seems to only undercut the progress of the other.
Set against a backdrop of Australia's current environmental initiatives and echoes of its colonial past, these cases challenge loyalties and long-held beliefs. No one doubts an Aboriginal Elder's prophecy that the situation will ultimately end in tragedy. The question is, will anyone manage to survive the fallout?
