A deep emotional look into the life of a young man growing up in the fifties. Like so many boys back then Ray longed to be a soldier like his father. Watching all the old World War 11 movies, he was moved by the great actors like John Wayne and Audie Murphy and how they fought fearlessly for their country. There wasn't any protesters against the war back then. Every man knew it was his duty as an American and a dedication to unconditional Patriotism.
This is a story that tells the journey that Ray went through and how his life was affected and influenced by God. His emotional and psychological struggle in Vietnam was unlike so many others. Mentally and physically fighting the Viet Cong, the citizens of Vietnam, the hatred from American protesters, and most of all the personal grudges and vengeance from within.
This story also shows how a dogs love and dedication to his owner can help change a boy into man and help a man suffering from trauma and mental fatigue. His hope in writing this book will help other veterans write their story and assist in caring for those still suffering from the long affects of war.
