Greed is a hungry demon; it cares not for the innocent.
When Mary married her perfect man, she had no concept of the true nature of the mongrel she was pledging herself to. It didn't take long, though, before the vindictive narcissism clamped around his heart began to leech upon Mary's idyllic life, trampling her rose tinted glasses underfoot.
What followed was a vendetta spanning years, draining Mary, and leaving her a destitute husk of her former self, the mongrel heralded by a society where darkness lurks in broad daylight, and nobody sees it.
But now, decades later, Mary has found her strength. Strength to share her story, face her abusers and shine a light into the dark recesses of a society that tramples the innocent underfoot in the pursuit of personal gain.
