This is a book of abstracts of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, tax records. The original records are arranged by township and within each township alphabetically by the first letter of the surname. The author followed the same arrangement. Each entry includes the name of the taxpayer, the types of taxable property, and the tax paid. Occupation or marital status is included if given. Any notes written in the entries or margins are included. Derry Township, East Huntingdon Township, Fairfield Township, Franklin Township, Greensburg Borough, Hempfield Township, Mount Pleasant Township, North Huntingdon Township, Rostraver Township, Salem Township, South Huntingdon Township, Unity Township, and Washington Township are covered. The available records for Fairfield and Washington Townships do not list the taxable property-only the name of the tax payer and the tax. An appendix and a full-name index complete this work.
