However, their instability in vivo, caused by corrosion, limited mechanical properties, and poor biocompatibility, remains a great challenge yet to be solved-which is important because the stability of metallic implants is closely associated with the clinical performance of medical implants. This topic has, therefore, attracted increasing levels of attention from researchers in recent decades and the great advances have been achieved. In order to provide a platform to communicate the latest findings of researchers, to broaden understanding and to deepen insights into \"advances in the stability of metallic implants\", we organized a Special Issue focused on this topic and ten articles have to date been published in the journal \u003cem\u003eMetals\u003c\/em\u003e.
