He is an information governance SME, consultant, keynote speaker, and the noted author of the seminal textbook Information Governance. Smallwood's IG book is being used to guide corporations in their IG programs as well as teaching graduate students IG at major universities, such as the University of Oxford, University of Michigan, and San José State University.
