Escapar parece ser para Sofía la única salida. Y en esa huida, mientras se cierne una terrible tormenta sobre la isla, conocerá a las hermanas Flores, a Clara, al "maestro", el siniestro líder de una secta, y a los hermanos Javier y Nicole, una exreligiosa que busca resolver el misterio de esas desapariciones.

A passionate adventure following a young woman who leaves the protective mantle of her home to decipher the tragic death of her grandmother, and her place in the world.
Tormented by the unexplainable suicide of her grandmother and her mother's hoarding problem (which has turned their house into a pigsty) Sofía seeks her father's help to attend boarding school outside of her native Puerto Rico. She carries the stigma of being different--a supremely intelligent girl with an uncanny ability for math and for not leaving any unanswered questions. But neither all her abilities nor her family's money can help her solve the enigma of her own life in the island, where young women keep disappearing with alarming frequency. Escaping seems to be the only solution to her problems. And in that escape, while a powerful storm builds in the island, she will meet the Flores sisters, as well as Clara, the "teacher" -- the sinister leader of a mysterious cult -- and Nicole, a former nun that is trying to solve the mystery of the disappearing girls.Stalked by an invisible and dark presence, Sofía's forced participation in a gory ritual will lead her to seek the truth and to discover the answers to all her questions were a lot closer than she could have ever imagined.
