Kashi is best known as a virtuoso of computational mathematics, but he was also a competent astronomer. Among his major works is the \"Zij-i Khaqani,\" an astronomical handbook written in Persian. The zij contains a list giving the latitudes \u0026amp; longitudes of some 515 places, mostly cities, the subject of this paper.
