The Earth Remembers What Nations Choose to Ignore
When a high-stakes global meeting is shattered by a suspicious death, a former intelligence operative must untangle a lethal web of corruption and environmental secrets before the truth is buried forever...
High in the Swiss Alps, world leaders have gathered to discuss how to save a planet running out of time. Within hours, a translator falls to his death on a mountain path-and Esmond Cooper-Key, former MI5/MI6, now operating in the grey space between the Service and the private world, knows the man was pushed.
From London's Royal Academy to a glacier-ringed summit hall, Esmond moves through a world of vice presidents and generals, oligarchs and climate scientists, a Kremlin colonel and an Amazonian chief-each one in possession of a piece of the truth translator Viktor Sobel died for. With the help of his associates and a Swiss police inspector, Esmond must determine who silenced Viktor and why, before the summit's real business of addressing a planet in crisis is silenced along with him.
Spanning continents and convictions, Alpine Summit is an ecothriller for a world running out of time: a novel that asks what we owe the earth, and what we are still willing to sacrifice to save it.
