Author Biography
Author, seamstress, designer, light-bearer, love warrior, Texan: Robin Brown is a channel of inspiration dressed in an old lace nightgown and top hat. Brown's internationally-celebrated clothing and textile company, Magnolia Pearl, is the vessel for her vision: the fount and fruition of her creative endeavors. Established in 2001, Magnolia Pearl is committed to providing ethically- and sustainably-sourced garments for all genders and body types while supporting and uplifting the many men and women worldwide who are proud to extend their gifts to the enterprise.
One of the ways Brown aims to spread her message of generosity, love and beauty is through print. Her first book, published in 2008, "A Bit of Velvet and a Dash of Lace: The Fabulous Interiors of Magnolia Pearl" received the attention and acclaim of design fans and industry luminaries. Selling well despite little publicity, "A Bit of Velvet" set the stage for Brown's expansion into the publishing world. It's been over 10 years since that first book and Brown is primed to release her second paper progeny into the universe. ". . . and the Stars go With You" is the title of her second tome. Part memoir, part fairy tale and all inspiration, ". . . and the Stars go With You" delves deep into Brown's childhood, influences and ethos, revealing threads of her life and art that have been hidden in the seams until now.
