The astrological signs and their ruling planet are assigned to the appropriate angel and chakra based on the author's knowledge and research. The seven waves of darkness in the story are descriptive of the seven deadly sins from the Bible. A prayer or poem closes each chapter and is a representation of different cultures and mystics.
The higher meaning and symbolism used in the book are inspired mainly by Helena P. Blavatsky, one of the founders of the Theosophical Society. Toward the end of the 18th century, Blavatsky shared in her writings her extensive knowledge of symbolism, metaphysics, and philosophies and religions of the world as taught to her by Tibetan teachers. The works of Alice Bailey were also used as a resource. Several volumes by Bailey delve extensively into the psychological make-up of a human being through their incarnations as an evolving spiritual entity.
