Life in 2048 is tough for everybody, but for a young girl named Kelly stuck in slavery on the dirt side of Witch City, existence is a living nightmare. She fled her captors in a last-ditch effort for survival, but she hadn't planned on running into that alley kid who was in even worse shape than she was. She didn't know him; all she could do was cover him up while fleeing the pursuing evil.
But that single act of mercy would trigger a chain of events that would draw the attention of Simon, CYBER, and most notably, Jack "Preach" Mathews, leader of CYBER's newest 7 member ops team, "Preach's Pride." The fledgling team has its own troubles, though, as members still struggle with some repercussions from their first mission. Despite the escalating tensions within the group, both the Pride and their mentors, Grey's Hounds, prepare to pay a visit to Witch City. But the CYBER teams need to hurry - with the abject conditions she is forced to endure, Kelly won't be able to hold on much longer...
Angels is a return to Len Gizinski's dystopian world of 2048 about a month after the events of The Metal Within, where the fall of entire governments has left international corporate conglomerates to make the rules; non-corporate city areas are left to fend for themselves, highways between cities have become war zones, and grain blights have left most people living off corporate-created algae food substitutes. CYBER offers hope, but will they be enough?
