He has published widely on puritanism and poetry for scholarly and non-scholarly audiences. He is the author of \u003cem\u003eSympathetic Puritans\u003c\/em\u003e (2015) and \u003cem\u003eCity on a Hill \u003c\/em\u003e(2020), which won two national awards and was supported by multiple fellowships. Most recently he has written \u003cem\u003eWord Made Fresh: An Invitation to Poetry for the Church \u003c\/em\u003e(2024), which won a Best Book award from \u003cem\u003eChristianity Today\u003c\/em\u003e.
