Contemporary architect Ralph Johnson is one of the most prolific and awarded American architects practicing today. As Firmwide Design Director at global architecture firm Perkins&Will, which he joined in 1976, Johnson's work has shaped communities and spanned continents--from Africa's tallest tower to Shanghai's landmark natural history museum. Ralph Johnson is a Principal and Global Design Director at Perkins+Will, where he has worked since 1976. He was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects in 1995, and was elected to the National Academy in 2015 - one of the highest honours in American art and architecture.
