As you go through your life, should you suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune? should you stand by and do nothing as the slings and arrows come right at you? In Act 3, Scene 1 of William Shakespeare's play, Hamlet, Hamlet asks the very same question when he says, "To be, or not to be, that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles . . ."
Think about this as you travel through the pages of this fun, 'learn to read' book written and illustrated by award winning author, attorney and former teacher, Penelope Dyan, that is filled with word recognition, word repetition and rhyme, all to help a kid build his or her reading word vocabulary, while he or she improves his or her reading skills. And while considering and thinking about what William Shakespeare meant when he penned those words seems like a big idea to consider, we all really do suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune in one way or another.
