Avery the Fox is a gentle fox living in a tall-treed forest who feels different from the others. Avery doesn't feel like a boy or a girl and struggles to understand why they don't fit into the boxes others expect.
When a wise owl notices Avery's sadness, it offers comfort and wisdom, comparing Avery's identity to a sunrise or a rainbow--unique, natural, and whole. The owl explains that gender can be male, female, both, or neither, and that there is no single right way to be.
With courage and clarity, Avery stands tall and embraces who they are. They learn that gender isn't defined by "he, she, pink, or blue," but by being true to oneself. Through kindness and self-love, Avery discovers belonging, peace, and joy.
