Susan Usha Dermond, BA, MA, MLS, has a varied background in education, most of it in the Education for Life system. She began her career as an English teacher in public high schools and most recently taught high school English in the Ananda Online High School. She founded the third Living Wisdom School in Portland, Oregon, where she was the director for fifteen years, and prior to that, taught fourth through ninth grades at the first Living Wisdom School at Ananda Village in northern California, where she currently lives.
She developed the first online Education for Life classes and is the author of a handbook for teachers and parents, Calm and Compassionate Children (Random House).
