Barney is a little brown pony with a snowy white mane, the softest ears on the farm, and a brand-new problem: sore front feet. Now he has to wear big, black, clunky rubber boots everywhere he goes. CLUNK. CLUNK. CLUNK.
Old Crow thinks it's hilarious. The hens are cackling. Even the cows next door have lined up to stare. Barney wants to hide in his stall forever, until his best friend Envy the mini-donkey shows him that boots aren't so bad, and the summer rains reveal what those clunky boots can really do.
Based on a true story from Little Run Farm, where the real Barney wears his boots every single day, this warmhearted tale celebrates friendship, courage, and the surprising gifts hiding inside the things that make us different.
Book One in the Tails from Little Run Farm series. All the animals are real. All the stories are true.
