Follow the magical friendship between a girl and a tree as she learns to face her kindergarten fears with bravery and heart.
Penelope Grace has a giant problem: Kindergarten starts tomorrow! Her heart is beating fast, her tummy is full of butterflies, and she's terrified she won't make any friends.
Fortunately, she has Christy the Soft-her wise, quiet, favorite tree. Sitting under Christy's whispering branches, Penelope Grace remembers what it truly means to be a friend: sharing her sparkly purple crayon, being gentle with ladybugs, and just being yourself.
But entering a brand-new classroom is still the scariest thing she's ever done. When Penelope Grace spots another little girl who looks just as terrified as she feels, she remembers Christy's wisdom. Can a tiny smile, bit of courage and a lot of heart help Penelope Grace find her bravery?
