"As both a therapist and a mom, I often witnessed children struggling to express their emotions. My four-year-old daughter, Mackenzie, would frequently say her body felt 'wiggly' before she became upset. Many times, when I suggested doing rainbow breathing, Mackenzie would resist, leading to screaming and crying. I felt clueless and unsure how to help her navigate these intense feelings. Then one day, Mackenzie came to me teary-eyed and said, 'Mommy, I'm ready to do rainbow breathing.' In that moment, I realized how powerful it is for children to connect their physical sensations with their emotions.
