Roger Brinkman thought his home was safe. He was wrong.
Life changed abruptly while Roger was away at school. When a band of thugs impersonating soldiers showed up intent on kidnapping his adopted brother Nik, the situation turned tragic. Nik escaped but their family did not.
Their shared loss put the Brinkman brothers on wildly different paths in search of their family's killer. They end up serving on opposite sides in the Civil War, placed in a position to kill each other to survive the horrible conflict.
