Meet Zaja...
My eyes flash up to the grand floor-to-ceiling glass panes on the far side of the room, answered a split second later by the brilliant glory of fire poured from the sky, a bolt of wild freedom and burning power. My muscles clench in a minuscule lurch towards the world behind the glass before contracting further to keep my behind on the plush cushion of my chair. The vestiges of my breath shudder out of me with a quiet whimper.
For a moment, bronze-framed smaragdine eyes brimming with feeling stare back at me. The velvet melody of a husky murmur wraps around me.
Fragments.
Memory or imagination? Dream or vision?
Meet Sin...
His toes left the ground. Before they met the soft blades again, a crippling loneliness crushed his chest, wholly wrenching his focus away. His world narrowed to nothing but the feelings and sensations he received from her.
He'd been wrong before. He'd give up ever feeling her again if it meant she wouldn't feel this. How could she be this ravaged with loss-and survive it?
Sin's muscles clenched with useless power, his jaws gnashing, adrenaline cursing through him with the urge to protect but nowhere to go. Being unable to do anything for the Queen of his devotion-it was as deftly stealing Sin's reason as the pain he felt from her. A long growl rumbled through his chest, going to war against the intangible. Desperately, Sin tried to push something back through to her.
Comfort. Reassurance. Being there.
