When reflecting the logic of care, the challenges inherent to healthcare need to be considered: The human body is complex, healthcare is full of unpredictable variables, and care practices have boundaries. While healthcare workers are acting in a commercial and economic environment, they attempt to still maintain holistic care, act according to their own moral position, and keep their own professionalism while dealing with uncertain responsibility. Author Biography
Pei-Yi Liu, born in 1977 in Taiwan, work as consultant for the development of nursing, as manager for the quality of nursing care, and as homecare nurse at the Department of homecare center at university hospital Freiburg, Germany. The nursing scientist did her doctorate at Vinzenz Pallotti University in Vallendar, Germany. In 2012 she worked as a visiting scientist at the Department of Diabetology at university Hospital Freiburg. Her research focuses on nursing care, ethics of care, long-term care, and nursing theories.
