The demands that we are making on nature by living in cities has reached a crisis point and unless we make significant changes to address it, the prognosis is terminal consumption.

Author Biography
Peter J. Taylor is emeritus professor of human geography at Northumbria University and Loughborough University. Geoff O'Brien was senior lecturer in the Department of Geography at Northumbria University. Phil O'Keefe is professor of economic development and environmental management at Northumbria University.
