On their evening walk along the shore, Jenny and her dad discover a litter of brand new Golden Retriever puppies, abandoned in a large culvert, with no trace of the momma dog or how they got there. Worried that the puppies won't be able to survive without their momma, Jenny and her two best friends, Molly and Lora, set out to solve the mystery of the orphaned pups.
With a little hardscrabble sleuthing and bravery beyond their years, will the three friends find the momma dog in time to save the tiny one? Does the mysteriously placed culvert have anything to do with an international gang trying to disrupt communities throughout the region? Will they prove to themselves and their parents that they are more than capable of dealing with serious, real-world problems? Or will they stay kids, forever playing make believe?
In the first installment of the Commodore Island Mysteries, Jenny, Molly and Lora find themselves catapulted into an adult-size mystery-one that will forever change them and their small-town on the island. As the girls work the case, they just might prove they are becoming young adults after all...whether they're ready to or not.
