Although the questions can be difficult and annoying, Big Brother's answers are honest and heartfelt. The clever answers will delight children and help Little Brother accept his life as a wild coyote. Learning, for Little Brother, is all part of the adventure. "Coyotes: The Way of the Wild" is the second in a nature series about critters that live by Sturgeon Lake, in northern Alberta, Canada. The author handles the emotional element sensitively without shrinking away from reality and the way of the wild. The coyotes eat the duck eggs in the first book, and in "Coyotes" little brother questions what they have done. Both books inspire children to be happy with who they are. The story is well written and straight forward. Unlike many children's books about nature, this one accurately represents the natural world and teaches young readers about nature.
