Gunnar Shuck did, and no one believed him when the creature they belonged to set fire to his family's crops and forced them to move away from their Tennessee farm home. Now the teenaged cryptid hunter finds himself in Raspberry Hill, Pennsylvania, where Levi Mortenson, the eccentric owner of the Curiosity Shop, may be his only hope of finding the answers. He claims to catch unusual creatures such as the one Gunnar encountered, so if anyone knows about it, it's him. However, Mortenson has his own monsters and secrets, and before long, one of them is knocking on his door, demanding payment, or his life. Author Biography
Josh Berliner was born in 1993 and grew up in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan and has been writing stories since he was a little kid. He earned a Bachelor's in Applied Arts from Central Michigan University in 2015 and then a Computer Information Technology degree from Schoolcraft College in 2019 (because the Landlord must be paid). His first novel, Cryptid Currency, was published in 2025. He lives happily near the coast of Lake Michigan with his wife and cat.
