Cal Denton is good at lying. A reformed criminal constantly striving towards redemption, the crook-turned-FBI agent is on the verge of infiltrating the Detroit mob. But when a rural sheriff is brutally murdered in South Dakota, the unorthodox detective reluctantly agrees to trade his current assignment for hunting a killer.
Posing as the new ranch foreman, Denton sets to work manipulating those around him to dig up the truth. But when he starts growing close to the victim's beautiful widow, the practiced loner fears letting his guard down will leave them both dead.
Can Denton break all the rules and deliver justice before he's sent six feet under?
Darkness in Dakota is a gripping FBI mystery novel. If you like flawed protagonists, intense action, and powerful twists, then you'll love Connie Petersen's dive into danger.
