Getting cleaned up is easy. Showing kindness along the way is what matters most.
Dirt Dog has finally worked up the courage to ask Prissy Poodle an important question. After getting cleaned up and looking his best, he sets out to invite her to the Paw Party Prom. But the day does not go according to plan, and one unexpected challenge after another threatens to derail his mission.
Instead of giving up, Dirt Dog keeps choosing kindness, courage, and care for others. Along the way, he discovers that real confidence does not come from looking perfect or impressing someone else. It grows when we make good choices, help others, and do what is right even when things are difficult.
Winner of the 2026 Golden Scroll Children's Book of the Year, Dirt Dog Invites Prissy Poodle to the Prom is a heartwarming picture book about kindness, character, self-worth, and courage. With an engaging animal cast and plenty of opportunities for conversation, it is ideal for read-alouds at home, in classrooms, libraries, and group settings.
Sometimes the best way to make a good impression is simply to have a good heart.
