Have you ever longed for or just sensed that there was a deeper level to God than what we seem to experience in our churches today? Have you noticed that although our churches have grown larger, attract thousands of people, and have more resources than ever before that there is still little to no real transformation taking place in the lives of Gods people and therefore no impact being made in the world? Being intrigued by Jesus' Words to His disciple (Phillip) in John 14:12 that "whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." Samiour, in Discipleship or Deception explores how far the church has drifted from the path of successfully accomplishing the only command given by Jesus to the church (or those who follow him). The contents written within the pages of this book reveal the hindrance to the absence of power in the church and the ineffectiveness of discipleship within the Body of Christ. In this book, Samiour asks the tough questions of: How are we judging success in our churches? Is it by the size of our congregations or the number of our buildings? Is it by nickels and noses? Is it by how many members we have or by how many we are sending? The culmination of his theory all brings a conscious awareness to the true condition of the church and points back to how critical it is that we get back to Doing God's work, God's Way.
