Does the New Testament Church replace Israel, so that the unfulfilled promises of the Old Testament are spiritualized and fulfilled in the Church instead? Or has God reserved a literal, future fulfillment of those covenant promises for a restored and believing Israel?
In Does The Church Replace Israel?, Paul D. Dugas takes readers through a careful, Scripture-saturated study of one of the most consequential - yet often overlooked - questions in Bible prophecy. Beginning with the example of Daniel, a man who unlocked the hidden mysteries of God through prayer and obedience, Dugas builds a case, chapter by chapter, for the literal fulfillment of Old Testament promises to the literal nation of Israel.
Drawing on decades of study, and incorporating material from Bible scholar T. B. Baines, this volume walks through:
- Unlocking the mysteries of the Bible
- Who is truly in the Church
- The coming of the Lord in two acts
- Israel and the Jews in God's plan
- God's promises concerning the earth
- Who receives the unfulfilled promises of the Old Testament
- The purposes of God in the earth
- The restoration of Israel to their land of promise
- The Holy Ghost's spiritual restoration of rejected Israel
- A summation of God's fulfilled purposes
Originally printed in 1994 and now released in a third printing, this study calls believers to rightly divide the Word of truth concerning the last days - distinguishing God's plan for Israel from His plan for the Church, so that the hope of the Lord's return rests on a sure foundation rather than a spiritualized substitution.
