Drop Me Around the Corner.
A candid and often shocking coming-of-age memoir of growing up with an eccentric father.
In Drop Me Around the Corner, Tracy Bouvier shares a candid, deeply personal story about growing up in the shadow of a man who enjoyed attention, saw the world in his own way, and often seemed unaware of the impact he had on the people closest to him.
At the center of it all was the van-impossible to ignore, sometimes embarrassing, and somehow the perfect symbol of a childhood that felt unpredictable, complicated, and, at times, lonely.
With honesty, humor, and surprising tenderness, Bouvier captures what it's like to love a parent who can't always love you back in the way you need. These are the moments many people recognize but rarely say out loud-the quiet disappointments, the public embarrassments, and the private negotiations a child makes just to get through the day.
But this isn't just a story about dysfunction. It's about resilience, self-awareness, and finding your voice while growing up alongside a father who often seemed lost in his own world.
For readers who connected with stories like The Glass Castle, this memoir offers a raw and relatable look at family, identity, and the complicated ties we carry into adulthood.
