A paperback Spanish edition of the #1 New York Times bestseller, Lilly's Big Day by award-winning author Kevin Henkes. In this companion to the bestselling and beloved Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, readers will discover a funny, poignant tale about facing life's disappointments and celebrating happy surprises.
What is the single most thrilling thing that could happen to Lilly in her whole entire life? You guessed it. Her teacher, Mr. Slinger, is getting married. And Lilly is going to be his flower girl. Did he invite you to be his flower girl? Lilly's parents ask her. Doesn't Mr. Slinger have a niece? Lilly's parents ask her. Well, no, he didn't. And, yes, he does. A niece named Ginger. Oh, dear.
What is the single most disappointing thing that could happen to Lilly in her whole entire life? Mr. Slinger is getting married. Married! And Lilly is not going to be his flower girl.
But Lilly isn't called the Scarlett O'Hara of the elementary school set without reason. Lilly rises to the occasion as only Lilly can, turning heartbreak into wedding cake (a delicious three-tiered frosted Swiss cheese, no less) and disappointment into friendship.
She's feisty. She's smart. She's adorable (in small doses). She's dedicated. She's a dreamer. . . well, she's Lilly. And she is one of the most beloved characters in children's literature. This Spanish edition of the critically acclaimed bestseller is perfect for library, classroom, and home collections.
