Steve Smallman es el autor de La ovejita que vino a cenar. Empezó a trabajar como ilustrador hace treinta y cinco años y ha ilustrado tantos libros que ha perdido la cuenta. Durante sus primeros años trabajó principalmente en publicaciones educativas, aunque por sus últimos trabajos se le conoce más como autor que como ilustrador.
