An invitation to reflect on the idea and reality of family, including your own.
A topic that affects us all: family. Everyone has one, and each is different. This unconventional book breaks with conventional notions of a normative nuclear family, bringing together voices from around the world with diverse impressions. The focus of local debates across the globe shows us how complex and different, but also how similar, images of family are across cultures. Contributions from newspapers, academia, forums, and blogs, together with literary texts, personal accounts, and photographic works, open up a worldwide kaleidoscope of historical and contemporary perspectives, with Nando von Arb's comics offering a thoughtful commentary.Author Biography
