Vigilantes, heroines, or criminals? Inspired by the violent labor revolt of 1878 on the island of St. Croix, Fireburn weaves a tale of passion, purpose, and revenge. "...a visceral experience that would translate beautifully to the big screen...a taste of Caribbean history, drama, and romance," writes Julie Kendall, television and film actress.
"...a remarkably identifiable 'hero's journey' filled with the good, the bad, and the ugly of a pivotal time in the history of the US Virgin Islands. Her vivid descriptions, humor, and historical references make this a must-read for young and old alike. As a former teacher for seventeen years on St. Croix, USVI, I can say that Fireburn would create an entertaining experience for any student curious about Caribbean history..." said Gloria Ayot, PhD, Professor Emerita, Eastern Washington University, author and illustrator of children's books.
