Dr. Eleanor Haspel-Portner is the tenth Reiki Master/Teacher initiated by Reiki Grandmaster, Mrs. Takata, who brought Reiki to the West after World War II. This manual incorporates Dr. Eleanor's notes from the First Degree Reiki class that she attended in Mrs. Takata presence. This manual incorporates Mrs. Takata's recommendations for Reiki treatment and the nuances of the practice in terms of hand position.
