Although powerful, her healing comes at the cost of her humanity. With each victory won against monsters and hunters living in the dungeon, she descends further into madness. And as she and the wolf prove themselves as apex predators, they begin to reach toward a godhood that Katherine and Scruffy don't--and can't--share.
But their enemies still stalk them. The dungeon lord Baron Manos Ironheart will stop at nothing to make the wolf his personal weapon, and Emhreeil's volatile mother, Marquess Irythiel, has massacred a dungeon noble's family in a quest to find her daughter.
