Forgiveness often feels impossible. When someone has hurt us deeply, it seems natural to hold on to the pain and to believe they don't deserve forgiveness. Many of us carry silent weight on our chests for years, never realizing how heavy it truly is. But when we finally choose to forgive, something unexpected happens: Our lives begin to change, and the burden that once controlled us starts to disappear.
This book shares the true story of a son who spent more than thirty years carrying the hurt of being abandoned by his biological father at age two, and how once he began choosing forgiveness, it transformed both of their lives. Through this journey, we discover that forgiveness is difficult but also powerful and that we are called to forgive because God will forgive us no matter what we have even done to Him. Forgiveness may be one of the hardest choices we ever make, yet it is the one that can set us free.
