Told through personal interviews, this biographical look at Freddie Mercury and his role in the rock band Queen tells the story of three academics and an art student who decided to go against the rigid rules of the music industry and create their own movement. Examining all aspects of the band--from its rough start, the many times that the members were about to break up, problems with the press, the stresses of being on tour, and internal disputes--the bittersweet and sometimes contradictory portrait that emerges from these conversations is that of a publicly flamboyant but fiercely private man who became a rock icon for the 1970s and beyond.

Greg Brooks is Queen's official archivist. Simon Lupton is a film and television producer. Jer Bulsara is Freddie Mercury's mother. Freddie Mercury was the lead vocalist and songwriter for Queen, a British rock band.
