The concept of Fresh beginnings was born out of a desire to live emotionally healthy. When I gave my life to Christ over thirty years ago, I did not know that living a healthy spiritual life was very dependent on a healthy thought life. The Apostle Paul tells us that we are to live a transformed life through the changing of our thoughts. This devotional will encourage examination of your thoughts and how they manage your emotions. Completing the daily worksheets will give valuable insights into the barriers that block the path to a deeper connection with self and others. Meet the Author: Dr. Gwendolyn L. Pettway is the founding pastor of The Full Gospel Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Detroit, Michigan which began ministry in 2005. Full Gospel is the manifestation of many years as interim and permanent pastor for several Disciple Churches in the Metro Detroit Area. She is currently a senior staff therapist with the Grace Counseling Center of Detroit where she specializes in Marital Conflict Resolution, Depression, Anxiety, Low Self Esteem, family and individual counseling. Dr. Pettway is often requested as a lecturer and workshop facilitator, presenting such topics as Depression, The Gift of Relationship, Self-Esteem (Temple or Trash Can?), Divorce Recovery, Managing Grief, Mother-Daughter DIS-Connect and many other areas of life experience. Dr. Pettway is also trained as an Imago Relationship Therapist. Dr. Pettway is an associate professor with Heritage Center for Religious Studies where she teaches Christian Counseling, Pastoral Care, and Preaching Eulogies. Dr. Gwendolyn L. Pettway, DCC is a Christian Counselor who has helped countless individuals, couples and families learn to manage their emotional life. For over two decades she has been sought out as a teacher, lecturer and key-note presenter. Dr. Pettway is a pastor with the Disciples of Christ. She is the founding pastor of the Full Gospel Christian Church in Detroit, MI.
