She is known for her portraits and works inspired by Mexican nature and folk art, but above all for her colorful and expressive self-portraits that address universal themes such as identity, the human body, and death. She chose to transform the painful situations of her life into art, creating her own style, where she depicted not only her physical problems and pains but also her emotional ones.
In life, she was a style icon, a rebel, and a symbol of feminine strength. Today, seventy years after her death, Fridaman?a has crossed the borders of her beloved Mexico and spread worldwide.
