From Generation to Generation is a collection of sermons preached by African American participants in the Festivals of Young Preachers from 2010 to 2015, events sponsored by the Academy of Preachers. It is a rare and unique archive of what the nation's most promising young African American ministers are thinking and speaking about the Christian faith. It is enriched by the Festival sermons of many of the nation's leading seasoned preachers also.
Author Biography
Winterbourne LaPucelle Harrison-Jones, Academy of Preachers class of 2010, has been a part of the Academy of Preachers since its inception in 2008. A fourth-generation herald of the Gospel, Harrison-Jones holds degrees from Fisk University and Colgate Rochester Crozier Divinity School, and is now pursuing postgraduate work at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a scholar, ecclesial leader, and now author and editor, Harrison-Jones investigates how theological and homiletic resources within Christian traditions are valuable for interpreting and responding to such pressing public issues as economics, religion, race, class, and structural inequality.
