Mishra is a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, Kanpur, India where he was instrumental in establishing a combustion laboratory. He currently holds the \u003cb\u003eIndian Oil Golden Jubilee Professional Chair\u003c\/b\u003e in IIT Kanpur. He was a \u003cb\u003eVisiting Professor\u003c\/b\u003e in 2002 at the \u003cb\u003eTokyo-Denki University, Japan\u003c\/b\u003e. His areas of research interest include combustion, computational fluid dynamics, atomization, etc. He is the recipient of the \u003cb\u003eYoung Scientist Award\u003c\/b\u003e in 1991 from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. He was conferred the \u003cb\u003eINSA-JSPS Fellowship\u003c\/b\u003e in 2002. In recognition of his research, Dr. Mishra received the \u003cb\u003eSir Rajendranath Mookerjee Memorial\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cb\u003eAward\u003c\/b\u003e from the Institution of Engineers (India). Dr. Mishra is a recipient of the \u003cb\u003eSamanta Chadrasekhar\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cb\u003eAward \u003c\/b\u003efor his contributions to science and technology. For technological contribution for the common people, he has been conferred with the \u003cb\u003eVikash Prerak Sanman\u003c\/b\u003e in 2010.
