By its nature the Bible is a supernatural book and it shouldn't be surprising that ghosts and spirits are frequent subjects as well as a number of unusual curses being placed in the holy work. The fact that warnings are given in the pages of Scripture about dealing with spirits in itself reveals that these beings are considered real. Otherwise, why bother to be concerned with them? There are many occasions when special tactics and talismans are used by the ancient Israelites, such as by the Keepers of the Thresholds, whose task was to ward off evil spirits. One of the oldest ghost stories is about Saul visiting the Witch of Endor to have her call up the spirit of Samuel for him. This is one of the more famous ghosts to appear in the Bible. Elijah, Moses, Elisha, job, Ezekiel and even Jesus have had ghostly experiences. A number of warrior ghosts are found in "Ghosts in the Bible," including those who helped inspire the crusaders during their battles. Mary, the mother of Jesus, has frequently been seen in ghostly form which are different from the religious visions of her. You may be surprised by how many ghosts, spirits and haunted places there are in both the Old and the New Testament. "Ghosts in the Bible" will call up many of them before you.
