God, Give Me a Name is an exploration of common criticisms and misconceptions about the Christian faith. From the first five books of the Bible to the Book of Revelation, I explore how Scripture portrays a God who is both loving and just, offering a deeper understanding that counters initial cultural perceptions. Using expository teaching, I begin the book discussing complex topics within specifically the Torah and Revelation that are not commonly taught within the church:
- Noah's flood and the spiritual fall of the Nephilim
- Why God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac
- The Canaanite and Midianite conquests
- Whether God hardened Pharaoh's heart
- Slavery within both the Old and New Testament
- Whether Christians pick and choose certain laws within the Law of Moses to follow
- A full synopsis of the Book of Revelation and how to understand its teachings
I also examine historical evidence from both biblical and nonbiblical sources supporting the Bible's authenticity: how the Bible canon was formed and translated as well as evidence for the resurrection of Christ. Addressing issues such as human suffering and the uniqueness of Christianity among other world religions/denominations (Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc.), this book argues that true biblical Christianity provides the most compelling and plausible answer to life's deepest questions.
Whether you are a skeptic or believer, God, Give Me a Name offers a thoughtful, reasoned defense of the Christian faith, challenging misconceptions, clarifying some of the mysteries of Scripture, and offering hope to a world in need of truth.
