A LEGEND IS BORN The place is ancient Persia. The era is during the reign of the great sultans. In times of tyranny and oppression, refugees would flee the persecution of their homeland, seeking asylum in other kingdoms with just rulers. Such a quest was called a hejira, and many such adventures became the stuff of legend. In "Hejira" not all who are ill-treated are poor, not all who are thieves are black of heart, and a common need for freedom can make friends out of strangers. Journey with a small band of unlikely companions who escape their bonds and face many dangers as they seek a new life together.
Author Biography
Deanna Stewart has been crafting tales of fantasy since childhood, where her lifelong love of mystical lands, magical powers and distant worlds began. "Hejira" is her first novella and the first story in her "Escape" series - a group of tales chronicling the exciting adventures of courageous people fighting to find freedom from oppression, and shape their own destinies. Deanna lives in Wisconsin.
